Mae Pickering, CISSP, is an enterprise security engineer. She holds dual Associates and Bachelor’s degrees in cybersecurity, and is always looking for her next learning or sharing opportunity.

With over 8 years of experience, Mae has dabbled in various disciplines within the industry. Her strength lies in her ability to navigate complex challenges; adeptly untangling intricate problems to deliver elegant solutions.

As a neurodivergent individual, she believes in the power of multifaceted perspectives to drive innovation and progress. Mae has shared her journey into security at conferences such as HouSecCon and Day of Shecurity, aiming to empower and inspire others, particularly women, to pursue careers in technical fields. She's a trailblazer; demonstrating how technical expertise and diversity can coexist to shape a brighter future for the industry. 

When she’s not in the cybergamut, Mae is a member of her local Makerspace community and enjoys spending time outdoors.

While I moved to Charlotte NC just over two years ago, I'm finally at a point in my life where I have the capacity to participate and give back to the local security community here. I used to be incredibly connected to the local community when I lived in Austin, TX and I was starting to miss it.
